This beautiful Manor home was recently renovated into a B&B and the result is the classic bedrooms have fabulous new bathrooms attached to them. There are nice antiques throughout the home and a comfortable furnished deck with a great view on the upper floor in back. The hospitality was top notch and Marisca, the owner, brought us homemade cookies after we arrived.

Our room, the Landry Suite (their smallest offering), has a fireplace and sitting area as well as a coffeemaker and fridge, but the best part was the bathroom with its stunning clawfoot tub sitting beneath a chandelier. There's a large sink and modern shower as well. This relaxing space was especially well appointed with lots of toiletries including epsom salts, bath bombs, fluffy new towels and bathmats. We really enjoyed the long soak and slept well.

In the morning Marisca served a candlelit breakfast in the beautiful dining room. I loved the real china and the presentation. The candles made it very romantic. We had fruit to start and I had pancakes and my husband had eggs with bacon. The food and the coffee were both great – I had a cappuccino and she has a European machine to make it. The only downside was the dog who sat by the table and begged for food during breakfast until we asked her to keep him in the kitchen as I don't like dogs (and even if I did like dogs I wouldn't like it begging at breakfast). Marisca- who is so friendly and accommodating- promptly removed the opportunistic pooch.

This part of New Brunswick is very close to both Nova Scotia and Moncton and across the water from Hopewell Cape with the extreme tides of the Bay of Fundy. You could also stop here if you were headed over to PEI as the bridge is not too far away.

The place was a great value as it was about $100 US ($125 Canadian) for the room, including breakfast. She even gave each of us a small bag of goodies to go – cookies for me and grapes for my husband (he has allergies) – and a handwritten thank you note. Very classy! We would definitely stay here again!
