In an ocean of sand known as the Mojave Desert, lies a city that bills itself as 'The Entertainment Capital of the World' and when describing Las Vegas, that's not too far from the truth.
For over sixty years, Vegas has been America's dirty little (not-so) secret, considered a monument to hedonism, spectacle and indulgence. But there are many sides to this entertainment behemoth and although sin is definitely one of them, romance can be found throughout the city. In this case, romance doesn't have to be a quiet dinner next to a roaring fire. It can be fun, exciting, decadent, and yes, even a little bit naughty.
There are many hotels along the Vegas strip that have different themes and vary in size from the small to the enormous. We stayed at The Planet Hollywood Resort (www.planethollywoodresort.com ), which is a great choice as it's big and flashy both inside and out, but not so gargantuan that it takes twenty minutes to walk through the lobby. By Las Vegas standards, it's also easy on the wallet; the savings can then be used at their Spa by Mandara. Their popular service, 'The Ceremony of Love' is a couples bathing ritual and dual massage; It comes highly recommended.
Planet Hollywood also boasts the Miracle Mile Shops which is a mall connected to the property, where couples can browse for many items to spice things up including infinite amounts of chocolates and two different lingerie stores, 'Fredericks of Hollywood' and 'Victoria's Secret'.
To do something active and exciting together, walk down the strip and make a stop at Vegas Indoor Skydiving (www.vegasindoorskydiving.com ). This is a truly unique experience where you and your significant other can have all the fun of actually jumping out of a plane without the fear. An instructor gives a quick lesson on the moves involved in doing the activity and then after getting into some flight suits, you're off floating over a large fan that simulates a skydive. It's something that will be talked about for the rest of the trip.
Once you're done floating six feet off the ground, go 55 stories up at the top of The Palms Hotel for one of the most romantic views high above the city. Ghostbar is a stunning spot to have a drink and ogle the brightness of the Las Vegas nightlife.
